Elicit Brewing is Much More than Beer
Craft beer brewed on site is just the beginning at Elicit—the new Fairfield location for the Manchester-based operation. You might vaguely remember a gym (or a bounce place) on the site Elicit occupies right next to Bigelow Tea and the Fairfield Metro train station, but walking in the dramatic, open space is a totally different experience. Giant doors at the back allow for an inside-out beer hall experience (when the weather cooperates), and the bar itself is almost stadium style. You walk up to get one of the dozens of brews available on tap, and congregate with friends at one of the numerous tables, private booths or outdoor loungers. Delicious bar food is available at a walk-up counter in the back, and if you’re interested in a more sit-down feel, a “speakeasy” style room offers tapas in a darker, more secluded space.
The beer and food are terrific (especially the All-American Smash Burger and Sprouts and Spuds), and the flexible footprint means a family of 5 or a group of friends can go without a reservation and find a place to meet, greet, eat and sit. The only other similar space in the area is Bridgeport’s Brewport—and Elicit has easier parking and more variety on the menu.
